About BuyMyMojo/Video-FPS-overlay
Video FPS Overlay is a Python tool that generates FPS and frame-time graph overlays from performance data captured by gaming benchmarking and monitoring software. The tool processes CSV files and HML files from FrameView, MSI Afterburner, and MangoHud to create PNG image sequences that can be composited over video, similar to overlays used by tech reviewers like TRDrop and Digital Foundry.
The application offers extensive customization options for visualizing performance metrics, including control over graph resolution, colors, axis ranges, line widths, and layout elements like grid lines and center markers. Users can choose between displaying FPS or frame-time data, adjust the visible data range on the graph, and control text positioning and styling. The tool exports results as PNG image sequences at various resolutions from 720p to 4K, making it compatible with video editing workflows.
Currently the project has full support for Nvidia FrameView data with both FPS and frame-time metrics, while support for other capture formats like MangoHud and MSI Afterburner is still under development. The project depends only on pandas and matplotlib, keeping dependencies minimal for users who want to integrate it into video production pipelines.
