About Evelyn1337/Devil-Daggers-Practice-Tool

Devil Daggers Practice Tool is a command-line utility written in bash that lets Linux players of Devil Daggers easily manage and play custom spawnsets. A spawnset is a custom configuration file that changes how enemies spawn in the game, allowing players to practice against specific enemy patterns and difficulties.

The tool functions as a spawnset selector and downloader that automatically handles the logistics of managing practice files. When you select a spawnset, the script checks if you already have it downloaded locally; if so, it copies that file to become your active survival spawnset. If the spawnset isn't available locally, the tool downloads it from devildaggers.info using wget and then activates it for play. You can also search for spawnsets by name, and the tool will attempt to download and activate them. This eliminates the manual work of checking what's downloaded and replacing files yourself.

The tool is designed as a Linux alternative to the built-in download and import features in the Devil Daggers Survival Editor, making it accessible for players who prefer command-line interfaces or don't have access to the official editor's functionality. Installation requires pointing the script to your Devil Daggers game directory and running an initial setup, after which you can launch it directly from the command line to browse and play different spawnsets.
