JF-secure is a Windows-based tool stack designed to automatically set up reverse proxy access for Jellyfin media servers. Built with Visual Basic .NET Framework, it combines Caddy Web Server and WinSSW to handle the technical complexity of exposing a local Jellyfin instance to the internet securely.
The project aims to make reverse proxying accessible to non-technical users through an automated installer and interactive setup process. After installation, users answer basic questions about their domain and Jellyfin server location, and the tool configures SSL certificates and routing automatically. The service runs in the background and starts with the system, requiring only that users have a custom domain, ports 80 and 443 forwarded, and firewall access configured.
While primarily designed for Jellyfin, the tool can technically reverse proxy other services with manual configuration adjustments. The project is straightforward in scope but includes known limitations, such as a flawed backup creation function that requires manual intervention. It targets Windows users seeking an easy-to-use alternative to more complex reverse proxy setups.
