About edilsoncorrea/UPS-18650-Lite

UPS-18650-Lite is an uninterruptible power supply designed specifically for Raspberry Pi model B boards (4B, 3B+, 3B, and similar variants). The device uses two standard flat-head 18650 lithium batteries to provide power and connects to the Pi via seven pogo pins, eliminating the need for separate power cables. The UPS accepts external power through a USB Type-C port and automatically manages power delivery—supplying the Pi directly from external power when plugged in and seamlessly switching to battery power when unplugged.

The hardware includes comprehensive protection features such as over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, and short-circuit protection. It also integrates the MAX17040G fuel gauge chip for accurate battery voltage and remaining capacity monitoring. The system supports simultaneous charging and discharging, allowing the Pi to continue operating normally while the batteries recharge from external power. All power supply and battery monitoring functions are handled through the pogo pin interface, keeping the system minimal and clean without additional wiring clutter.
