About etrusci-org/olay

Olay is a collection of livestream overlay modules designed to work as Browser-Source plugins in OBS Studio, the open-source streaming software. The project provides a variety of customizable overlays that streamers can integrate directly into their broadcasts, including tools for displaying time and date information, countdowns, weather data, Twitch chat messages, random quotes, floating text effects, and even real-time solar imagery from NASA's SOHO mission. There's also a world map module showing day and night regions plus the positions of the Sun and Moon.

The project is built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, making it accessible and relatively easy to customize for different streaming needs. Users can access a web-based configurator to preview and set up overlays without needing technical knowledge, though self-hosting is also supported for users who want to run it on their own webserver. The codebase uses TypeScript and Sass for development, with build tools and dependency management scripts provided for those who want to compile from source.
