About frappe/erpnext
ERPNext is a free and open-source enterprise resource planning system designed to help businesses manage their core operations in a unified platform. Built on the Frappe Framework, a Python and JavaScript web application framework, it provides comprehensive tools for accounting, inventory management, order fulfillment, manufacturing, human resources, project management, and asset tracking. The system eliminates the need for purchasing separate software solutions for each business function by consolidating accounting, supply chain, customer relationship management, and other critical operations into a single integrated application.
The platform features modules for financial management including cash flow tracking and reporting, order and inventory management with stock replenishment and shipment tracking, manufacturing support with material consumption tracking and subcontracting, project delivery with timeline and budget management, and healthcare and retail capabilities. ERPNext can be deployed through Frappe Cloud's managed hosting service or self-hosted via Docker, with both options supported by comprehensive documentation. The project includes a modern Vue-based user interface and provides REST API access for custom integrations.
The community-driven project is supported through Frappe School educational resources, extensive official documentation, discussion forums, and a Telegram user group. Development is open to contributions through GitHub, and the project maintains active translations across multiple languages via Crowdin. The codebase is primarily written in Python, with a substantial JavaScript component for the frontend interface, making it suitable for developers and organizations seeking a customizable, enterprise-grade ERP system without vendor lock-in.
