About magland/ml_ms4alg
ml_ms4alg is a Python library providing electrophysiology processing tools as part of the MountainLab ecosystem. It implements MountainSort v4, a spike-sorting algorithm designed to detect and classify neural action potentials from extracellular recording data. The package functions as a processor library that integrates with MountainLab, a framework for reproducible neuroscience data analysis.
The project supports flexible installation either through PyPI for standard use or directly from source by cloning into the MountainLab packages directory. Once installed, it can be registered as a MountainLab plugin to enable spike-sorting workflows within larger analysis pipelines. The codebase is marked as legacy, reflecting its role as an earlier iteration of the MountainSort algorithm family.
