Steamlink Launcher for OSMC is a Kodi add-on designed to simplify Steam Link setup and management on Open Source Media Center systems. The launcher automates the installation of two scripts needed to run Steam Link, allowing users to stream games from their Steam library to their OSMC device. It also includes support for wake-on-LAN functionality if that add-on is installed, enabling remote activation of Steam host machines.

The project is built in Python and requires Kodi version 19 or later. Installation is straightforward—users download a zip file and install it through Kodi's add-on interface, after which Steam Link is automatically deployed. The launcher includes optional wake-on-LAN integration that can be configured by creating a configuration file with the host machine's MAC address.

The project is currently in beta and is maintained by the community with contributions from several developers. The maintainer notes that while they can address issues specific to the launcher itself, performance problems should be reported to Valve. Known issues include a workaround for Raspberry Pi 4 users experiencing black streams, which involves adjusting device tree overlays in the system configuration.
