About eclipse/kuksa.val
This repository has been archived as Eclipse Kuksa development moved to a dedicated organization. KUKSA.val is the KUKSA Vehicle Abstraction Layer, a collection of in-vehicle software components for working with vehicle signals modeled using the COVESA VSS (Vehicle Signal Specification) data model. It provides a standardized way to represent and access vehicle data across different automotive systems.
The project contained several major components, though most have been relocated to separate repositories. The KUKSA Databroker, an efficient signal broker written in Rust that provides authorized access to VSS data via gRPC, moved to its own repository. KUKSA Server, a feature-rich C++ in-vehicle data server offering VSS data access through the W3C VISS websocket protocol, is deprecated and reached end-of-life on December 31, 2024. Additional tools and libraries included a Python SDK, a Go client example, sample applications in various programming languages, and multiple feeders and providers for exchanging vehicle data.
The project targets automotive developers and systems integrators working with in-vehicle software architectures. It emphasizes security through TLS concepts and maintains code quality with pre-commit hooks for automated checks before commits.
