About hollannikas/angularattack2016-narwhal
This is a rogue-like game created for the AngularAttack 2016 competition by team Sarvivalas. The project takes inspiration from Konami's Cave Noir, a 1991 game, and deliberately avoids using HTML canvas to instead showcase Angular 2 features and capabilities rather than relying on traditional game loop painting techniques.
The game is built with TypeScript and Angular, starting from Angular's quickstart template and later ported to Angular CLI. It uses the DawnLike tileset, a 16x16 universal rogue-like sprite and tile collection, along with freely licensed 8-bit background music. The team chose the name Sarvivalas, which means "horned whale" in Finnish, as a playful reference to the project.
