About IceWhaleTech/CasaOS

CasaOS is an open-source personal cloud system designed to make home server management accessible to non-technical users. Built primarily in Go with a Vue.js frontend, it provides a friendly, intuitive interface for setting up and managing a personal data center on affordable hardware like Raspberry Pi, Intel NUC, or older computers.

The system enables users to install and manage Docker applications through a curated app store featuring popular services like Nextcloud, HomeAssistant, Jellyfin, and AdGuard, while also supporting direct installation of over 100,000 Docker ecosystem applications. It includes file management, system monitoring widgets, and smart device connectivity features. CasaOS aims to address data ownership concerns, reduce reliance on commercial cloud services, and provide a foundation for personalized AI assistants by leveraging local computing resources.

The project supports multiple hardware architectures and Linux distributions, including Debian, Ubuntu, Raspberry Pi OS, and others, with installation via a single command. The team, originating from the ZimaBoard Kickstarter project, emphasizes community-driven development and welcomes contributions from users seeking to reshape the home computing experience through open collaboration.
